Publication Policies
Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi aims to contribute to knowledge sharing on a national and international level by publishing original research articles in Turkish and English in the fields of Turkish Language and Literature (Old Turkish Literature, New Turkish Literature, Folk Literature, Folklore, Turkish Language, Turkish-Islamic Literature, Contemporary Turkish Dialects, Linguistics, Comparative Literature).
Articles can be submitted for the journal's issues published annually in three issues: March (15 February-28 February), August (15 June-30 June), and December (15 October-30 October). The review process takes an average of 45 days. The article will be reviewed by 2 internal reviewers, 2 external reviewers, 2 language editors, and 1 final reader.
Starting from the August 2024 issue, Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi will only accept "Research Articles" and "Translations." Articles prepared as book reviews/introductions will no longer be accepted.
Articles submitted to the journal must be original, in line with the journal’s scope, not under review elsewhere, and approved by the author(s) for submission.
Authors submitting articles to the journal must sign the Copyright Agreement Form in blue ink and upload it in PDF format during submission. Authors retain the copyright to their work, and articles are published under a CC BY-NC 4.0 open access license.
An author may only submit one article per publication cycle (year).
There are no fees associated with article publication or processing in Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi.
Articles should be submitted electronically in Word format via the journal's "Submit Article" section on the website.
Articles submitted to the journal must follow the journal's formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that do not adhere to the guidelines will be returned to the author.
In multi-author articles, the removal or addition of an author after submission cannot occur without written consent from all co-authors, and the author order cannot be changed.
Submissions must follow the APA 7th edition citation style. Submissions that do not meet this standard will not be considered.
The maximum word count for submitted articles is 12,000 words. Articles exceeding this limit will not be reviewed.
Articles should be written using the ADED Article Template in Microsoft Word with Minion Pro font, size 10 for abstracts, 10.5 for text, 8.5 for footnotes, 10 for block quotations, tables, and references. Block quotations should be indented by 1 cm from both sides.
All submissions should include a 150-300 word abstract in both Turkish and English, as well as at least 5 keywords in both languages.
Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi checks for plagiarism. Plagiarism, duplication, fake authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, copyright violations, and conflicts of interest are considered unethical behaviors.
Articles that do not meet ethical standards will not be published, even if they pass the review process. If this is detected after publication, the article will be retracted.
Double-blind peer review: After plagiarism checking, articles that pass initial assessments in terms of originality, methodology, and alignment with the journal's scope will be reviewed by at least two impartial reviewers with doctoral qualifications.
Publication decision: Articles that are recommended for publication after the review process, and revised according to reviewers' feedback, will be evaluated by the Editorial Board for final publication.
The initial review and peer review process typically takes 7 weeks.
All articles published in Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi are assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

Publication Ethics Statement
Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi adheres to national and international standards for research and publication ethics. The journal complies with the Press Law, the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works, and the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Guidelines for Higher Education Institutions. It also follows the International Ethical Publishing Principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
Survey and Interview-based Studies
For research involving surveys and interviews, authors must ensure that ethical approval from the relevant ethics committee is obtained and documented. This approval must be stated in the methods section and on the first page of the article.
Correction, Retraction, and Expression of Concern
Editors may issue corrections for minor errors that do not affect the findings or conclusions of an article. However, in cases of major errors or violations, the article may be retracted. If there is suspicion of research or publication misconduct, editors may express concerns, particularly when the findings are not reliable or if the institution has not investigated the issue.
Plagiarism Prevention and Measures
Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi uses iThenticate to detect plagiarism and checks articles for similarity before publication. If plagiarism is detected, corrective measures are taken, including communicating with the author’s institution, retracting the article from the website, and disabling the author’s account for future submissions.
Publication Ethics Policy
Akademik Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi strictly follows international standards for research and publication ethics. It is committed to ensuring the originality of submissions and follows a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.
Special Issue Policy
The journal may publish a special issue upon request by the Editorial Board. Manuscripts submitted for special issues are subjected to initial review, formatting checks, plagiarism screening, and double-blind peer review.
