Behçet Necatigil’in “Yıldızlara Bakmak” Radyo Oyununda Deneyim ve Kendilik Ekseninde Anlam Arayışı

Abstract

Behçet Necatigil’in radyo oyunu Yıldızlara Bakmak’ta, Necatigil’in şiirlerinde olduğu gibi semboller yoğundur. Sıradan yaşamının bir anında yıldızlara bakma ihtiyacı hisseden Yolcu ile onun yıldızlara bakmak için gittiği rasathanenin müdürü oyunun başlıca kişileridir. Oyun, ağırlıklı olarak bu kişiler arasındaki konuşmalardan oluşur ve oyunda anlam arayışı, bireyin iç dünyasının farkına varması, “yıldızlara bakmak” ile somutlaşır. Necatigil, yol, yolculuk, akıl, bilim, sezgi, olgunlaşmak gibi hem felsefi hem de mistik çağrışımları olan sözcüklerle oyununu zenginleştirir. Özellikle orta hâlli insanın günlük yaşama kapılıp iç dünyasını zenginleştirememesi oyunun temel sorunsalıdır. Bu durum kişinin deneyimin değerini bilmemesi ve kendilik bilincinden yoksunluğunun göstergesidir. Ayrıca aile, çevre ve modern dünya da deneyimi ve bireyin kendisi olmasını engelleyici ögeler olarak belirir. Yıldızlara Bakmak’ta işlenen deneyim, kendilik, bireyin çevre ve toplumla ilişkisi temaları Necatigil’in şiirlerinde de karşımıza çıkar. Dolayısıyla bu radyo oyunu ile Necatigil’in şiirleri arasında türlerarası ilişki bulunmaktadır. Oyundaki anlam arayışını en genel anlamıyla estetik deneyim olarak değerlendirebiliriz.

The Search for Meaning Around Experiıence and Self in Behcet Necatıgil’s Radio Play “Looking at the Stars”

Abstract

Like his poems, Behçet Necatigil’s radio play Looking at the Stars, is based on symbols. The main characters of the play are the “Passenger” who felt the need to look at the stars during his ordinary life and the director of the observatory he went to. While the play mainly consists of the conversations between them, the search for meaning and the awareness of the inner world of the individual becomes concrete through the act of “looking at the stars”.

Necatigil enriches his play with words that have both philosophical and mystical connotations such as road, journey, mind, science, intuition, maturity. The main problem of the play is that the average middle-class person cannot escape from daily life and enrich his inner world. This situation is an indicator that the person does not know the value of experience and lacks self-awareness. In addition, the family, the environment and the modern world appear as obstacles to personal experience and being self-aware. While the themes of experience, self, the relationship of the individual with the environment and society are covered in Looking at the Stars, they also appear in Necatigil’s poems. Therefore, there is an inter-genre relationship between this radio play and Necatigil’s poems. In the most general sense, the search for meaning in the play can be considered as an aesthetic experience.
