Sağlık haberciliği ve hasta-hekim ilişkileri: Etkileşimler ve riskler

Abstract

Hasta hekim ilişkilerini etkileyen unsurlardan biri
de sağlık haberlerinin medya kanallarında işleniş biçimidir. Ne var ki, sağlık
ile ilgili konularda yapılan haberler ve üretilen medya içeriği her zaman bu
iletişimin pozitif bir biçimde yürümesine olanak sağlamamaktadır. Çünkü
gazeteciler haber hikâyelerini oluştururken, zaman baskısı, çerçeveleme
zorunluluğu, deneyimlerden kaynaklanan engellemeler ve okuyucunun/izleyicinin
beklentileri gibi birçok hususu dikkate almak zorunda kalmakta ve kurum içi ve
dışı motivasyonla bazen “başarılı gazeteciliğin kriterlerini” göz ardı
edebilmektedirler. Özellikle haberin daha çok okunması için kullanılan dil ve
başlıklar daha ileri süreçte hastaların beklentilerini artırmakta, bu da
hastane personeli ve doktorlar ile sözlü ve fiziksel boyuta varacak kadar
iletişim kazalarının yaşanmasına neden olmaktadır.  Elinizdeki çalışma, kamusal fayda
sağlayabilecek sağlık haberciliği nasıl mümkün olur sorusundan yola çıkarak
daha çok teorik bağlamda bir yandan hasta-hekim iletişimindeki aksaklıkları
sağlık haberleri bağlamında incelemeye çalışırken diğer yandan sağlık
haberciliğindeki sorun ve çıkmazları irdelemekte ve sağlık haberciliğinin kamu
sağlığındaki etkileşimlerini ele almaktadır. Literatür taraması ve medya
içeriğine yönelik değerlendirmeler sonucunda; sağlık haberciliği ve iletişimine
yönelik tartışmaların (ameliyatta unutulan sargı bezi gibi) “iyi” haberlerin
ortaya çıkmasına engel olduğu, sağlık sektöründe oluşturulan beklentinin ve
izlenme/okunma oranının sağlık konularının profesyonel biçimde
haberleştirilmesini engellediği, bunun da faydacı bir kamu haberciliğinin
medyada izole edilmesine neden olduğu anlaşılmıştır.
