Investigation of Life Satisfaction Levels in Adults in Terms of Some Variables: North Cyprus Example

Abstract

This study aims to examine the life satisfaction levels of adults in terms of some variables and metaphorical perceptions. This study was carried out with the parallel method converging from mixed research designs. The quantitative data were collected on 191 volunteers, while the qualitative data were collected on 83 volunteers (providing feedback for qualitative data) with simple random sampling method. Content analysis was carried out in qualitative data. The quantitative results showed that the participants' life satisfaction levels were moderate. The participants produced 62 metaphors for life satisfaction in qualitative part. The most used metaphor for life satisfaction was the expression "happiness". Other findings of the study are presented in the discussion section within the scope of the relevant literature.
