In this study, the life and poetic world of the bard (Ozan) Uğur Işılak, who was raised in the tradition of poeticism and bard culture, and one of the important representatives of this tradition in the twenty-first century, was tried to be examined. Işılak was born in Germany in 1971 who met baglama at the age of eight and started writing poetry. Işılak, who learned to play baglama at the age of twelve or thirteen, reached the level of composing within a few years. Işılak grew up with the influence of many maestros such as Âşık Mahzuni Şerif, Ozan Arif, Ozan Yusuf Polatoglu, Âşık Reyhani, Mevlüd Ihsani, Erol Ergani, Kul Nuri, who are among the important names of the bard tradition. In addition, Işılak toured with dozens of master minstrels and is known for his concerts. Ozan Işılak has produced more than four hundred works in thirty-three years, and for about thirty-five years, especially in the work Motherland Turkey; he took part in cultural and artistic events in Europe, America, Australia and Central Asian countries. In his poems, the poet deals with the themes of love, separation, longing, expatriation, the transience of the world, heroism, love of homeland and nation, etc. Işılak, who lives in Istanbul, continues his art life as a contemporary poet.
