Investigation of Teacher Candidate’s Social Skill Levels

Abstract

It is very important for teachers to have behaviors which may interact with others and are acceptable in social aspect. These behaviors are generally termed as social skill. The aim of this research is to investigate the social skill levels of teacher candidates in the aspect of various variables. 222 4th grade students who are educating in license program of Primary Education Department Pre-School Education Teaching, Social Studies Education Teaching, Mathematics Education Teaching and Science Education Teaching in Buca Faculty of Education in University of Dokuz Eylül constitute the sample of this research. In this research, with a view to obtain information related to socio-demographic characteristics, Personal Data Form and Social Skill Inventory are used as data collection tools. As a consequence of research, there are meaningful relations between the subparts and some factors of the scale
