A Comparison Of Inservice Training Of Teachers In Some Developed Countries And Turkey

Abstract

Aim of this study is to determine how to perform of inservice training of teachers in Turkey, to compare their similar and different sides, and thereby to submit a model proposal for inservice practices in Turkey. The comparison is limited by 8 developed world countries which are selected by the researchers. In study at first, it is explained the importance of inservice training and the process of inservice training of teachers in Turkey, the USA (Washington), Germany (Hamburg), Australia, Denmark, France, England, Switzerland and Japan as detailed. Furthermore, the similarities and differences of inservice training of teachers in these 8 countries compare to our country. In the last part, it is submitted a model proposal to indicate how to provide inservice trainings by taking as a sample of developed countries which have a successful education system and by making radical changes to update and make deeper knowledge and skills of teachers, to help implementing occupational innovations and developments, and to make them more professional.
