A Study on Preschool Educators Thinking About Importance of Institutional Aims

Abstract

The study was conducted on preschool teachers working at private kindergartens and independent affiliated with the Ministry of Education and located in the center of Ankara. The study sample included a total of 100 teachers, 51 of whom were working at four different kindergartens and 51 of whom at ten private ones. Data were collected by using the “Scale for Preschool Institutional Goal Achievement and Awareness of the Importance of Goals” designed by İş (2002). The results showed that the participating teachers achieved institutional goals to a great extent and had a high awareness of the importance of these goals. It was found that teacher’s educational backround created a significant difference in their importance of institutional goal levels, while work experience and the type of institution were working did not
