Cultural Leadership Roles of School Principals in High Schools As Effective Schools

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine cultural leadership roles of school principals in high schools as effective schools. In this study, the effects of of variables, such as gender, professional status, and experience were examined. 240 high school teachers and 48 high school principals working in Afyonkarahisar in the 2010-2011 academic year participated in this study. A survey consisting of 33 items was developed in order to gather the data. The data were analyzed via statistics package program. Factor and reliability analyses were conducted in order to determine the structural validity of the survey utilized in this study. The findings of the reliability study showed that the survey has a reliable structure. According to the results, gender, professional status, and experience have an effective role on the topic.
