The Journal of Academic Music Research of Afyon Kocatepe University aims to contribute to musical science, knowledge, and accumulation by publishing works of national and international scientific quality in the field of music sciences.

Although research methods and techniques are generally used across many scientific disciplines, the field of music develops its own unique research methods and techniques, and studies specific to this field require a different approach to be addressed. Submissions to the Journal of Academic Music Research are expected to pay attention to these considerations. Our journal features Western music, performing arts, Turkish classical music, music education, musicology, and multidisciplinary studies related to music. The Journal of Academic Music Research of Afyon Kocatepe University is a national peer-reviewed journal that publishes new and original scientific articles containing research and reviews on musical science, as well as scientific studies in fields related to music science such as education, sociology, psychology, history, and art.

Published twice a year in January and June, the AKU Journal of Academic Music Research is indexed and abstracted in the Turkish Education Index (TEI), Scientific Indexing Services (SIS), Academic Resource Indexing (ResearchBib), DRJI, Acarindex, Idealonline, and IAD indexes.
