Aim & Scope

Amphora aims to provide a digital environment that enables the sharing of current developments, innovations, and original research in the field of maritime studies with the scientific community and their publication via open access, while also serving as an academic platform where these developments can be discussed; both their positive and negative aspects.

Amphora is an open-access, multidisciplinary scientific journal focused on the field of maritime studies that follows a double-blind peer-review policy. It is published electronically twice a year, in June and December, by the Faculty of Maritime Studies at Kocaeli University.

The journal publishes experimental studies, original research articles, reviews, case reports, translations, conference papers, legal analyses, case law analyses, book reviews, short communications, and letters to the editor, all prepared in accordance with ethical guidelines. Articles accepted for publication in the journal must meet national and international scientific standards and primarily address the following topics: maritime business, ship management, maritime transportation management, the human factor in maritime transportation, training of seafarers, logistics, maritime transportation logistics, maritime economics, maritime policies, maritime law, maritime geopolitics, maritime tourism, safety and security in shipping, marine and environmental pollution, maritime technology, energy economy and efficiency on ships, marine fuels, navigation engineering, ship simulations, marine electronics, control and automation, marine engines, ship and yacht design, and other topics related to the maritime sector.

Articles to be submitted to our journal must be prepared in accordance with the template file provided at the link below. The template file may be downloaded and edited directly. Articles that are not prepared in accordance with the template file will be returned to the author by the editor.
