The Pre-Operative Assessment of Readiness Tool: Turkish Adaptation and Implementation Study

Abstract

Objective: The readiness of surgical patients for surgery closely affects the nursing care and the recovery process of the patients. The Preoperative Assessment of Readiness Tool (PART) is a tool developed to determine patients' readiness for surgery. This study was carried out in two stages: methodologically, in order to adapt the Preoperative Assessment of Readiness Tool to Turkish and determining its validity and reliability, and descriptively, in order to determine the preoperative readiness of the patients. Method: In the first phase of the research, 152; in the second phase, 90 patients were included. Number and percentage, correlation analysis, language equivalence, content validity, construct validity, internal consistency, item and half-test reliability analyzes were used in the analysis of the data. Results: The Cronbach α coefficient of the scale is 0.871. It was determined that item-total score correlations ranged between 0.20 and 0.72. The fit indices of the scale were RMSEA 0.067; GFI 0.98; NFI 0.96; CFI was found to be 0.98. The average PART total score of the patients was found to be 71.87±8.68 (min: 39 max: 89). Conclusion: It has been determined that the instrument, with its Turkish form consisting of two sub-dimensions, is a valid and reliable measurement tool suitable for Turkish culture.

Ameliyata Hazır Olmanın Değerlendirilmesi Aracı: Türkçeye Uyarlama ve Uygulama Çalışması

Abstract

Amaç: Cerrahi hastalarının ameliyata hazır olma durumları hemşirelik bakımını ve hastaların iyileşme sürecini yakından etkilemektedir. Ameliyata Hazır Olmanın Değerlendirilmesi Aracı (AHODA) hastaların ameliyata hazır olma durumlarını belirlemek için geliştirilmiş bir araçtır. Bu çalışma, Ameliyata Hazır Olmanın Değerlendirilmesi Aracının Türkçeye uyarlanması, geçerlik, güvenirliğinin belirlenmesi amacıyla metodolojik, hastaların ameliyat öncesi hazır olma durumlarının belirlenmesi açısından da tanımlayıcı olarak iki aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Araştırmanın birinci aşamasına 152; ikinci aşamasına ise 90 hasta dahil edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde, sayı ve yüzde, korelasyon analizi, dil eş değerliği, kapsam geçerliği, yapı geçerliği, iç tutarlık, madde ve yarı test güvenirlik analizleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Ölçeğin Cronbach α kat sayısı 0,871’dir. Madde-toplam puan korelasyonlarının 0,20 ile 0,72 arasında değiştiği belirlenmiştir. Ölçeğin uyum indeksleri RMSEA 0.067; GFI 0.98; NFI 0,96; CFI 0,98 olarak saptanmıştır. Hastaların AHODA toplam puan ortalamasının ise 71.87±8.68 (min:39 maks:89) olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Aracın iki alt boyuttan oluşan Türkçe formuyla Türk kültürüne uygun, geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu belirlenmiştir.
