The articles included in this special issue evaluate the multifaceted healthcare challenges facing Gaza from diverse perspectives. The article titled "Assessment of the effects of the Israeli occupation on the Gaza health system after October 7, 2023 in terms of bioethics and international law" delves into the catastrophic collapse of the region’s healthcare infrastructure and the inhumane conditions endured during this period. Other articles, such as "Child Health in Gaza" and "Pediatric surgical practices in children under conflict and the case of Gaza after October 7", explore how children have been profoundly affected by this crisis and their position within the strained healthcare system. Another critical piece addresses the difficulties in accessing safe drinking water in Gaza, examining how the lack of clean water contributes to the spread of diseases and its severe implications for public health. Additionally, topics such as mental health services, maternal and child health, and the role of civil society in strengthening the healthcare system are thoroughly analyzed. Collectively, these articles aim to provide a multidimensional perspective on the humanitarian and health crisis in Gaza, enabling readers to gain a deeper understanding of the situation. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the authors who contributed to this special issue. Special thanks go to Dr. Iman Farajallah, who has personally endured the tragedies of Gaza, losing many loved ones during the publication process, yet continued to provide invaluable contributions.
