EBEVEYN BESLEME HEDEFLERİ: NİTELİKSEL BİR ÇALIŞMA

Abstract

Çocukların sağlıklı beslenme alışkanlığı edinmeleri ve sağlıklı gelişmeleri için dengeli ve yeterli beslenmelerinin önemi bilinmektedir. Erken çocukluk döneminde beslenmeyle ilgili faktörlerin anlaşılabilmesi, bu dönemdeki sosyal çevre ve aile ortamının daha iyi anlaşılmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Çünkü, yapılan çalışmalar, okul öncesi dönemde, ebeveynlerin, özellikle de annelerin besleme sosyalleşmesinde çok önemli bir rol üstlendiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Annelerin beslemeye yönelik davranışlarının, bu konudaki hedef ve inançlarından etkilendiği bilinmesine rağmen bu konuda sınırlı sayıda araştırma bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türk annelerin çocuklarını beslerken sahip oldukları hedeflerin ayrıntılı olarak incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu kapsamda 3-6 yaş arasında çocuğu olan 18 anneyle odak grup görüşmeleri yapılmış ve elde edilen verilere tematik analiz uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, annelerin sahip oldukları başlıca hedefler, “Sağlık”, “Beceri geliştirme”, “Bağ güçlendirme” ve “Anne odaklı hedefler” olarak isimlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulguların, çocukların erken dönem beslenmelerini iyileştirmek amacıyla geliştirilecek olan müdahale programlarının etkililiğini arttırmak için fayda sağlayabileceği düşünülmektedir.

PARENTAL FEEDING GOALS : A QUALITATIVE STUDY

Abstract

It is known how important a balanced and adequate nutrition is for children to acquire healthy eating habits and for their healthy development. Understanding the factors related to nutrition in early childhood requires a better understanding of the social and family environment in this period. Because, studies show that parents, especially mothers, play a very important role in feeding socialization in the preschool period. Although it is known that mothers' feeding behaviors are affected by their goals and beliefs, there are limited studies on this subject. In this study, it is aimed to examine in detail the goals that Turkish mothers have while feeding their children. In this context, focus group interviews were conducted with 18 mothers with children between the ages of 3-6 and thematic analysis was applied to the obtained data. As a result of the research, the main goals that mothers have were named as "Health", "Skill development", "Bond strengthening" and "Mother-oriented goals". It is thought that the findings may be beneficial to increase the effectiveness of intervention programs that will be developed to improve the early period nutrition of children.
