Fare Sperminin Kriyoprezervasyonu

Öz

Fareler küçük yapıya sahip olmaları, kolay temin edilmeleri, hızlı üreyebilmeleri ve kısa sürede yeni jenerasyon oluşturabilme özelliklerinden dolayı bilimsel çalışmalarda çok fazla tercih edilmektedir. Fareler ile insanlar protein ve DNA benzerliği yönünden aynı yapıya sahip olduklarından deney hayvanı olarak sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır (Spencer, 2002). Yapılan araştırmalarda çeşitli özellikler taşıyan özelleşmiş fare ırkları üretilmiştir. Bu fareler başlıca; insanlarda genetik hastalıklar, kanser, immünoloji, aşı yapımı gibi alanlarda hastalık modeli olarak kullanılmaktadırlar. Transgenik ve mutasyon metotları ile üretilen mutant fare ırklarının ve nesli tükenmekte olan birçok hayvan türünün genetik kaynakları kriyoprezervasyon ile korunabilmektedir. Bu amaçla birçok türler için sperm bankaları ve bununla ilgili konsorsiyumlar oluşturulmaktadır. Araştırma ve uygulamalar için değerli genetik özelliklere sahip farelerin genlerini korumak ve artırmak amacıyla sperm kriyoprezervasyonu günümüzde ve gelecekte önemli bir genetik yapıyı koruma kaynağı olacaktır (Yıldız ve ark., 2007; Yamashiro ve Eimei, 2012). Bu derlemede fare sperminin kriyoprezervasyonu hakkında bilgiler verilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
