Fiziksel Performansın Ötesinde: Spor Lisesi Öğrencilerinin Egzersiz Bağımlılığının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Günümüzde sağlıklı yaşamın anahtarı olarak sunulan egzersiz, sıklığına ve yapılış biçimine bağlı olarak patolojik bir davranış biçimine dönüşme potansiyelini de içinde barındırır. Bu çalışma, profesyonel spor kariyerine hazırlanan spor lisesi öğrencilerinin egzersizin karanlık yüzü olarak tanımlayabileceğimiz egzersiz bağımlılığı düzeylerini ve ilişkili demografik/davranışsal değişkenleri incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Tarama modelinde yürütülen çalışmanın evrenini spor lisesi öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Evrenden kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 150 öğrenci örneklemi oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında Tekkurşun vd. (2018) tarafından geliştirilen Egzersiz Bağımlılığı Ölçeği ve araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. 17 madde ve 3 alt boyuttan oluşan ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı ölçeğin bütünü için .88, alt boyutlar için sırasıyla .83, .79, .77 olarak bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bulgular, genel egzersiz bağımlılığı puanlarının normal aralıkta olmasına rağmen, bazı faktörlerin bağımlılık eğilimlerini anlamlı düzeyde yükselttiğini göstermiştir. Araştırma, egzersiz bağımlılığının cinsiyet, kariyer stresi, ekonomik motivasyon ve içsel motivasyon dinamikleriyle şekillenen çok boyutlu bir yapı gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur.

Beyond Physical Performance: Assessing Exercise Addiction in Sports High School Students

Abstract

Exercise, presented today as the key to healthy living, also has the potential to become a pathological behaviour depending on its frequency and form. This study aims to examine the levels of exercise addiction, which we can define as the dark side of exercise, and the related demographic/behavioural variables among sports high school students preparing for a professional sports career. The population of the study, conducted using a survey model, consists of sports high school students. A sample of 150 students was selected from the population using a convenience sampling method. The Exercise Addiction Scale developed by Tekkurşun et al. (2018) and a personal information form developed by the researchers were used to collect the research data. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale, consisting of 17 items and 3 sub-dimensions, was found to be .88 for the whole scale and .83, .79, and .77 for the sub-dimensions, respectively. The findings revealed that although overall exercise addiction scores were within the normal range, certain factors significantly increased addiction tendencies. The research demonstrated that exercise addiction is a multidimensional construct shaped by gender, career stress, economic motivation, and internal motivation dynamics.
