The Transformation Process of New Communication Models Through Digitalization

Abstract

Digitalization is a process that has led to profound transformations in social, economic, and cultural spheres due to rapid technological advancements. The fast development of technology has reshaped mass communication tools, making new communication environments an indispensable part of our lives. This transformation has had significant effects, particularly through social networks, on sociology, culture, and the economy, especially with the widespread use of the internet. As traditional media has been replaced by digital media, this process has diversified mass communication tools and increased interaction, resulting in profound societal impacts. This study examines the effects of digitalization on media, journalism, social participation, and financial sustainability, while also addressing the role of new media and digital platforms in communication, along with the ethical issues that arise. The research is conducted through a literature review and adopts a descriptive approach to analyze the impact of digitalization on communication models. By evaluating recent studies in the field, the study explores the transformations digitalization has brought to media and journalism practices and assesses the social consequences of this transformation. Digitalization is a powerful transformation process that affects all aspects of society. The development of communication technologies has led to fundamental changes in media and journalism practices, while the widespread use of the internet has enabled social media and digital platforms to offer more interactive and personalized content. This study examines the impact of digitalization on media and journalism and explores the societal consequences of this transformation.
