Abstract

Bu çalışmada, istismarcı yönetici algısının, kaytarma üzerindeki doğrudan etkisi ve duygusal tükenmenin, istismarcı yönetici algısı ile kaytarma ilişkisi üzerindeki aracı etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, Antalya iline bağlı Side-Manavgat ve Alanya bölgesinde faaliyet gösteren 13 otel işletmesinin (dört adet beş yıldızlı, yedi adet dört yıldızlı ve iki adet üç yıldızlı) ön büro, kat hizmetleri ve yiyecek içecek departmanlarında çalışan 269 katılımcıdan elde edilen veriler analize dâhil edilmiştir. Kolayda örnekleme yönteminin tercih edildiği çalışmada verilerin analizinde, SPSS 16 ve Lisrel 8.51 paket programlarından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda duygusal tükenmenin, istismarcı yönetici algısı ile kaytarma ilişkisinde kısmi aracı bir rolünün olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

The Effect of Abusive Supervision on Workplace Loafing and the Mediator Role of Emotional Exhaustion in this Relationship: An Examination on Hotel Businesses

Abstract

The current study examines the direct effect of abusive supervision on workplace loafing and the mediator role of emotional exhaustion in the relationship between the perception of abusive supervision and workplace loafing. In this context, the analysis has been carried out based on the data obtained from the 269 employees who work in the front desk, house-keeping and food and beverage departments of 13 hotel firms operating in the region of Side-Manavgat-Alanya in Antalya Province. Convenience sampling that is among the non-random sampling methods has been preferred to obtain data in this study and SPSS 16 and Lisrel 8.51 software packages have been used for data analysis. The findings of the research demonstrate that emotional exhaustion has a slight mediating effect on the relationship between workplace loafing and abusive supervision.
