Sosyal Hizmet Araştırma ve Uygulamalarında Odak Grup Tekniğinden Yararlanma

Abstract

Sosyal hizmet bağlamında, çeşitli sosyal araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmaktadır. Nicel, nitel veya karma araştırma yöntemleri ile anketlerden eylem araştırmalarına kadar genişletilmiş bir yelpazede birçok veri toplama tekniğinden yararlanılabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bu geniş araştırma tekniği yelpazesinden olan odak grup görüşmeleri tekniği hakkında olup, sosyal hizmet uzmanları ve araştırmacıları için sosyal hizmet araştırma ve uygulamalarında destek olacağı düşünülen çerçeve bilgiyi sunmaktır. Bu bağlamda, odak grup tekniğinin ne olduğu, planlama ve uygulamanın nasıl olması gerektiği ile ilgili alanyazın taraması sunulmuştur. Bunun yanında, odak grup görüşmelerinde veri toplama ve verilerin analizi ile ilgili bilgilere yer verilmiş olup, odak grup görüşmelerinin avantaj ve dezavantajları tartışılmıştır.

Benefitting from Focus Group Technique in Social Research and Practice

Abstract

Various social research methods can be used in the field of social work. In this context, many data collection methods can be used in an expanded range from quantitative, qualitative or mixed research approaches and from questionnaires to action research. The aim of this study is to present the focus group interview technique, which is one of this wide range of research techniques, and to provide framework that is thought to support social work professionals and researchers in their research and practice. In this context, a literature review on focus group technique, its planning and implementation have been presented. In addition, information on the collection and the analysis of data from focus group interviews has been included. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of focus group interviews have been discussed.
