EFFECT OF ER:YAG LASER ON SMEAR LAYER REMOVAL OF EXTRACTED HUMAN TEETH ROOT CANALS: A SEM STUDY

KÖK KANAL TEDAVİSİNDE ER:YAG LAZERİN SMEAR TABAKASI ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ: SEM ÇALIŞMASI

Abstract

Amaç: Kök kanal tedavisinin başarısı, kanal sisteminin temizlenmesi, şekillendirilmesi ve üç boyutlu sızdırmaz bir şekilde doldurulmasına bağlıdır. Kullanılan kök kanalı temizleme ve şekillendirme yöntemleri, kanal duvarlarının yüzeyini örten smear tabakasının oluşmasına kaldırılması amacıyla, farklı yöntemler ve solüsyonlar kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Er:YAG lazerin ve %5.25 NaOCl ve %17 EDTA kombinasyonunun smear tabakası üzerindeki etkilerini karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmada 21 adet yeni çekilmiş tek köklü daimi diş kullanıldı. Kök kanalları nikeltitanyum döner alet sistemi ile crown-down tekniği kullanılarak genişletildi. Kök kanalları, her bir kanal eğesinin kullanımından sonra NaOCl ile irrige edildi ve her bir deney grubunda 7 diş olacak şekilde rastgele 3 gruba ayrıldı. Kök kanallarında smear tabakasını kaldırmak amacı ile (1) 5mL %17’ lik EDTA, (2) 5 mL %5.25’ lik NaOCl ve (3) Er:YAG lazer kullanıldı. Her bir kök kanalının koronal, orta ve apikal 1/3’ ünden SEM cihazı ile mikrofotoğraflar alındı ve smear tabakası açısından değerlendirildi.Bulgular: NaOCl ve EDTA ile NaOCl ve Er:YAG lazer grupları arasında kök kanallarının koronal, orta ve apikal 1/3’ ünde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. Ancak grupların koronal, orta ve apikal 1/3’ leri arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır.Sonuç: Çalışmanın sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde, Er:YAG lazerin kök kanallarındaki smear tabakasının kaldırılmasında etkili olduğu gözlemlenmiştir
