Abstract

Mandibular alveolar hastalarda, malokluzyonların ve protrüziv profilin düzeltilmesinde ortodontik tedavi yaklaşımları tercih edilmektedir. Ortodontik tedavi keserlerin maksillada labiale ve mandibulada da linguale aşırı hareketine neden olurken, iskeletsel prognatizmin karakteristik görünümünde değişikliğe yol açmaz. Mandibular alveolar prognatizmin tedavisinde minör invaziv cerrahi bir işlem olan mandibular alveolar osteotomi alternatif bir tedavi seçeneğidir. Bu teknik dişlerin aşırı hareket etmesini engellerken, iskeletsel prognatik görünümü de düzeltir
