BELLEK, TRAVMA VE EDEBİYAT

Abstract

İnsanı
diğer canlılardan ayıran temel özelliklerden biri hatırlama eylemidir. Bellek
ise bu eylemin gerçekleştirildiği yer olarak, çağlar boyunca önem verilen bir
kavram olmuştur. Bireysel olarak kişinin geçmişini günümüze yansıtan ve kişinin
kimliğini tanımlayan bellek kavramı aynı zamanda toplumların tarihsel,
sosyolojik ve politik olarak incelenmesine de olanak sağlar. Kendine psikanaliz
ve politika gibi platformlarda yer bulan bellek, zamanla bir edebiyat konusu
olmayı başarmıştır. Çağdaş edebiyat çalışmalarında özellikle 1990’lardan sonra
öne çıkan bellek kavramı uluslararası düzeyde birçok yazarın odak noktası
haline gelmiştir.



Bu çalışmada, bellek
kavramı etimolojik olarak incelenmiş ve çağlar boyunca nasıl ele alındığı
üzerine anlatımlarda bulunulmuştur. Özellikle yirminci yüzyılın ikinci
yarısından sonra öne çıkan bir konu olmasının sebepleri ve o dönemde nasıl ele
alındığı da irdelenmiştir. Bellek kavramı ve kavramın edebiyatla olan ilişkisi
üzerinde durulmuştur.
