SUMMARY
This study is intended to examine the history ofg/ass works in Çankırı Museum and the period of Çankırı, located within the baundaries of the Paphlagonia, from the time of Hittits to the Romans of the 3rd century AD.
Emergence of the teqnique of b/owing in the early fmperio/ Period stopped the glass being a luxurious materiai, enabling this industry to be accessib/e to the whole public.
The sample in Çankm Museum are examinecl in the Iight of the types known to have been made with the tecnique ofb/owing, which started to be used after the Roman Period. A compillison between the samples in and out of Anatolia and these ones make us think that there might have been g/ass - making centres in and around Çankırı.
This study we firmly believe, wiJ/ contribute to the fiJling of the gap in the studies conceming the art and production of glass in Anatolia because of the very fact that there are few studies in this field.Primary Language | tr; en |
