KROMOLİTOGRAFİ BASKI TEKNİĞİ VE 19. YÜZYIL’DAKİ BAZI AVRUPA MATBAALARINDAKİ UYGULAMA ÖRNEKLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Matbaanın Avrupa’da 15. yüzyıl’da icadından günümüze kadarki gelişim süreci, tasarım anlayışının zaman içerisinde dönüşümü ve bu dönüşüme yanıt veren teknolojik gelişmelerle ilişkilendirilmelidir. Bu düşünceyle, Almanya’da geliştirilen Litografi baskı çeşidi de basımcılıkta ortaya çıkan yöntemlerinden bir tanesidir. Litografi baskı tekniğinin kâğıt yüzeyinde renkli uygulanması olan kromolitografi tekniği renkli illüstrasyonların basılabilmesini kolaylaştırmıştır. Bu teknik, ofset baskı makinesinin henüz geliştirilmediği geçmiş zamanlarda renkli baskı yapmaya imkân sağlamıştır. Ayrıca kromolitografi baskı, 19. Yüzyılda Avrupa matbaalarında çok çeşitli basım ürünlerinin üretilmesinin önünü açmıştır. Bu bağlamda kromolitografi baskının bilinmesi grafik tasarımcılar, ressam, illüstratörler ve yayımcılar tarafından kavranması önem arz etmektedir.
19. yüzyıldaki Avrupa’daki matbaalardaki basılmış eserler, görsel anlamda günümüzde fotoğraf öncesi döneme tanık etmesi bakımından önemli bilgiler bırakmıştır. Matbaacılık, geleneksel yüksek baskı tekniklerinden günümüz dijital baskı çözümlerine kadar birçok aşamadan geçmesine rağmen bazı köklü matbaalar eski baskı tekniklerini de halen sürdürmektedir. 19. yüzyıl matbaaları, hem eski basım tekniklerini devam ettirmesi anlamında, hem de geçmişe ait sakladıkları baskı kalıplarıyla, grafik tarihi açısından önemli yerlerdir. Bu bağlamda makalede kromolitografi tekniği anlatılarak 19. yüzyılda kromolitografi ile üretilmiş tasarım ve illüstrasyon örnekleri incelenmiştir.

CHROMOLITHOGRAPHY PRINTING TECHNIQUE AND EXAMINATION OF APPLICATION EXAMPLES IN SOME EUROPEAN PRINTING HOUSES IN THE 19TH CENTURY

Abstract

The development process of the printing press, from its invention in Europe in the 15th century to the present, should be associated with the transformation of the design concept over time and the technological developments that respond to this transformation. With this proposition, the Lithography printing was developed in Germany is one of the methods that emerged in printing. Chromolithography technique, which is the color application of the lithography printing technique on the paper surface, facilitated the printing of colored illustrations. This technique enabled color printing in the past, when the offset printing machine was not yet developed. In addition, chromolithography printing, in way for the production of a wide variety of printing products was European printing houses in the 19th century. In this context, to understand chromolithography printing is very important for graphic designers, painters, illustrators and publishers.
In Europe in the 19th century printed works in the printing houses important information in terms of witnessing the pre-photographic period today. Although printing has gone through many stages from traditional high printing techniques to today's digital printing solutions, some well-established printing houses still maintain their old printing techniques. The 19th century of printing houses has important places in terms of graphic history, both in terms of continuing the old printing techniques and with the printing patterns they have kept from the past. In this context, in the article by explaining the chromolithography technique, illustration and desgin examples and produced by chromolithography examined in the 19th century.
