Abstract

Dünya tarihi kadınlarla erkeklerin karşılıklı konumlarında sürekli bir
değişim sürecine tanık olmuştur. Bu sürecin çarpıcı bir noktası kadın hakları ve
cinsler arasındaki eşitlik konusundaki tartışmaların her zaman varlığını
sürdürmesidir. Kadınlar konusundaki tartışmalar bugün de güncelliğini
korumaktadır. Eşitlik ve kadınların yaşam koşullarının zorluğu gündemdeki
yerlerini korumaktadır. Çağdaş İngiliz oyun yazarlarından, dört çocuk annesi Pam
Gems de bu konuda görüşler ortaya koyan kişiler arasındadır. Günümüz
dünyasındaki kadın yaşamından canlı kesitler sunduğu Piaf, Camille, ve Loving
Women adlı oyunlarında çağdaş kadınların yaşadıkları zorlukları sahneye
getirmekte, kadınların feminist polemiğe neden olmadan verdikleri hayatta kalma
çabasını yansıtmakta ve hem erkekler hem de kadınlar için ulaşılması gereken en
kabul edilebilir doğrunun ‘eşitlik’ olduğunu savunmaktadır.
