Ivraca was founded as a strategically important spot in North West Bulgaria. City, which came under Ottoman domination in Bayezid period, was organised as a township of Nigbolu Sanjak. In 1642 Ivraca Township consisted of 10 quarters and 56 villages. Most of the population was non-moslem. In this study, based on information in 1642 avariz register, information about population structure, military and religious officials of Ivraca Township is given. Özet: İvraca, Kuzeybatı Bulgaristan’da stratejik olarak önemli bir noktada
kurulmuştur. Yıldırım Bayezid döneminde Osmanlı hâkimiyeti altına giren şehir, Niğbolu
Sancağı’na tabi bir kaza olarak teşkil edilmiştir. 1642 yılında İvraca Kazası 10 mahalle ve
kazaya tabi 56 köyden meydana gelmiştir. Nüfusun büyük çoğunluğu gayrimüslimlerden
oluşmuştur. Bu incelemede 1642 tarihli avarız defterinde yer alan bilgilere göre İvraca
Kazası’nın nüfus yapısı ile askerî ve dinî görevlileri hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. Ayrıca
kazaya tabi derbend, voynuk ve madenci köyleri üzerinde durulmuştur.
