İklim Değişikliği ve Küresel Isınma: Çevre ve Afet Sosyolojileri Açısından Bir Değerlendirme

Abstract

İnsanı fiziksel çevreye karşı daha üstün gören “İnsan İstisnai
Paradigma”dan, insanı ekolojik oluşumun bir unsuru olarak değerlendiren “Yeni
Ekolojik Paradigma”ya doğru yaşanan dönüşüm modernitenin ikiliklerini aşmaya
çalışan bir girişim olarak değerlendirilebilir. Kültür-Doğa iki ayrı uç değil;
birbirleri besleyen, birbirlerinin varlık nedeni olan iki taraf olarak kabul
edilmelidir. Kültürün doğaya yönelik acımasız yaklaşımı “İnsan İstisnai
Paradigması”nın pratiği olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Daha iyi yaşam,  daha verimli yaşam, daha modern, daha insani
yaşam sloganları ile kendi meşruluğunu sürdürmeye çalışan bu eğilim; refleksif
modernite kavramının dile getirdiği gibi gerçek yüzünü göstermeye başlamış ve bilimin
ikiyüzlülüğü geniş toplumsal kesimler tarafından eleştiriye maruz kalmıştır. Bu
çalışmanın odak noktası olan iklim değişikliği ve küresel ısınma olgusu da
dualitelerin birer inşa olduğu gerçeğini bir kez daha karşımıza çıkmaktadır.
Beck’in (2002) “Dünya Risk Toplumu” kavramsallaştırmasında ifade ettiği gibi,
ulus-devlet sınırlarını aşan riskler ile yüz yüze gelmekteyiz.  Bu yazıda, ulus-devlet aşan iklim değişikliği
ve küresel ısınma olgusu, madalyonun iki yüzü olarak kabul edilebilecek olan
çevre ve afet sosyolojilerinde yer alan kavramsal ve kuramsal tartışmalar
açısından incelenmektedir.
