Robert Ferrigno’nun 2040 Amerika İslam Cumhuriyeti Romanındaki İslamofobik Öğeler

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Amerikalı yazar Robert Ferrigno’nun 9/11 olarak da ifade edilen Dünya Ticaret Merkezine yapılan 11 Eylül 2001 terör saldırılarından sonra yazdığı 2040 Amerika İslam Cumhuriyeti (Prayers for the Assassin) romanında görülen İslamofobik öğeleri ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışmada öncelikle İslamofobi kavramının tarih sürecinde ortaya çıkışı ve kullanımlarından kısaca bahsedilmiştir. Verilen bu bilgilerden devamında yazarın İslamofobik bakış açısı ve bunun adı geçen romandaki yansımaları ortaya koyulmaya çalışılmıştır.

Islamophobic Elements in the novel Prayers for the Assassin by Robert Ferrigno

Abstract

The purpose of the current study is to reveal the Islamophobic elements in the novel Prayers for the Assassin written by the American author, Robert Ferrigno after the terrorist attacks on World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, which is also referred as 9/11. Initially, the appearance of the concept Islamophobia in the historical process and its usages are briefly mentioned. After this information, it is aimed to reveal the Islamophobic perspective of the author and its reflections in the novel.
