Digital Transformation of Library-Information Activities: Integrating AI, Cloud Technologies and User-Centered Platforms

Abstract

In contemporary information societies, libraries have undergone a profound transformation, evolving from traditional repositories and mediators of knowledge into dynamic systems that deliver technology-driven information services. The information function constitutes one of the core directions of library activity and encompasses the creation, preservation, organization, dissemination, and analytical use of knowledge resources. Implementing this function through innovative methods increases the social effectiveness of libraries and strengthens their institutional capacity to operate within digital transformation processes. This article examines the scientific and theoretical foundations of the information function in libraries, analyzes the influence of modern technological innovations on its implementation, and comparatively explores practices in Azerbaijan alongside selected international models. Particular attention is given to the roles of artificial intelligence applications, cloud-based services, digital cataloging systems, and user-centered interactive platforms in modernizing library-information activities and improving service accessibility, responsiveness, and management effectiveness.
