Abstract

The majority of ecosystems in the world are destroyed due to the pressures of human use such as cities and agricultural lands. Ecosystem restoration, which is the process of helping destroyed or damaged ecosystems to resume their healthy functions, aims to set up the ecological processes necessary for landscapes to be sustainable, durable and resilient in current and possible conditions. The aim of this research, which shows the place, importance and necessity of ecosystem restoration in landscape planning studies; It is the determination of ecosystem restoration approaches suitable for landscapes whose ecosystem functions have been damaged in Turkey and the appropriate ecosystem restoration criteria for approaches. For this purpose, samples from the world were examined and restoration criteria were determined. It is expected that the outputs of this study, which emphasizes the lack of landscape planning studies and ecosystem restoration in landscape plans in our country and fulfills the requirements of APS, will set an example for the integration of ecosystem restoration into the landscape planning studies and plans of our country and other countries.

Türkiye'deki Peyzaj Planlama Sürecine Ekosistem Restorasyonu Entegrasyonu

Abstract

Yerkürede ekosistemlerin büyük çoğunluğu kentler ve tarım arazileri gibi insan kullanımlarının oluşturduğu baskılar sebebiyle tahrip olmaktadır. Tahrip olmuş veya hasar görmüş ekosistemlerin sağlıklı fonksiyonlarını tekrar sürdürebilmesine yardımcı olma süreci olan ‘ekosistem restorasyonu’, peyzajların mevcut ve olası koşullarda sürdürülebilir olması, dayanıklı ve esnek olabilmesi için gerekli olan ekolojik süreçleri oluşturmayı hedeflemektedir. Ekosistemler bütünü ve açık sistemler olan peyzajlarda; peyzaj planlama çalışmalarında ekosistem restorasyonun yerini, önemini ve gerekliliğini gösteren bu araştırmanın amacı; Türkiye’de ekosistem işlevleri zarar görmüş peyzajlara uygun ekosistem restorasyonu yaklaşımlarının ve yaklaşımlara yönelik uygun ekosistem restorasyonu kriterlerinin belirlenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda dünyadan örnekler incelenerek restorasyon kriterleri belirlenmiştir. Ülkemizde Peyzaj planlama çalışmalarının ve peyzaj planlarındaki ekosistem restorasyonunun eksikliğini vurgulayan ve Avrupa Peyzaj Sözleşmesi’nin gerekliliklerini yerine getiren bu çalışmanın çıktılarının, ülkemiz ve diğer ülkelerin peyzaj planlama çalışmalarına ve planlarına ekosistem restorasyonunun entegrasyonu konusunda örnek olması beklenmektedir.
