GSI Journals Serie A: Advancements in Tourism Recreation and Sports Sciences (ATRSS), which started its publication life in 2018, is an international, scientific, and peer-reviewed e-journal published online under an open-access model. Since 2021, the journal has been indexed in the TR DİZİN – Science and Social Sciences databases and is also indexed by several national and international indexing services.
The journal is published by Taki Can Metin, the founder of the journal, who serves as Publisher and Editor-in-Chief. The publisher is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation Management, Faculty of Tourism, Kırklareli University, Türkiye.
The journal is jointly led by two Editors-in-Chief. In addition to Taki Can Metin, Prof. Dr. Öner Demirel, a faculty member of the Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Kırıkkale University, Türkiye, serves as Editor-in-Chief.
While the Publisher also holds the role of Editor-in-Chief, the journal operates under a clearly defined editorial governance structure that ensures editorial independence, impartiality, and transparency. The Editors-in-Chief oversee the initial editorial screening and the overall integrity of the publication process, whereas the scientific evaluation, reviewer selection, and peer review management are carried out by independent Section Editors and external reviewers (see Ethics & Editorial Policies).
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a double-blind peer review process, and editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of academic merit, scientific quality, and ethical standards, in accordance with the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The journal title “GSI Journals Serie A” reflects its original conceptual framework. “GSI” denotes the abbreviation of Global Science Institute, representing an interdisciplinary academic initiative, while “Serie A” identifies the journal’s thematic focus on tourism, recreation, and sports sciences. Following an early organizational restructuring, GSI Journals Serie A (ATRSS) has continued its publication activities independently under its current publisher and editorial structure, without any formal or operational affiliation with other journals or entities bearing similar naming conventions.
