Journey into the Unknown: Şırnak Culture, Faith and Nature Tourism Routes

Abstract

Nowadays, the tourism sector has not been able to bring out the natural values of many places. This research is the result of such a direction. Şırnak is an unknown place with its historical background, cultural richness and natural resources. The aim of this research is to determine the historical, cultural and natural resources of Şırnak and turn them into tourism routes. For this purpose, qualitative research method was used. First of all, the historical background of the city of Şırnak was examined with the literature review, then the cultural, religious and trekking tours of the city were determined. The places visited were recorded with photographs, videos and drones. GPS, geographic information systems (Quantum GIS), Google Earth, Relive and Openstreet Map applications were used for mapping the routes. As a result of the study, 10 thematic routes with religious, cultural and natural values were found. 7 of these routes are trekking routes, and 3 are cultural and faith routes. At the end of the work, recommendations were made for the development of sustainable tourism.

Bilinmeyene Yolculuk: Şırnak Kültür, İnanç ve Doğa Turizmi Rotaları

Abstract

Günümüzde turizm sektörüne duyulan ihtiyaç birçok yerin kendi değerlerini ortaya çıkarma arayışına neden olmuştur. Bu araştırma da böyle bir arayışın sonucudur. Şırnak sahip olduğu tarihsel birikimi, kültürel zenginliği ve doğal kaynakları ile henüz pek bilinmeyen bir yerdir. Bu araştırmada Şırnak’ta var olan tarihsel, kültürel ve doğal kaynakların belirlenmesi ve bunların turizm rotalarına dönüştürülerek turizm sektörünün gelişmesine katkı sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç kapsamında nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Öncelikle literatür taraması ile Şırnak ilinin tarihsel arka planı incelenmiş daha sonra ilin tüm ilçelerinde geziler yapılarak kültür, inanç ve yürüyüş rotaları belirlenmiştir. Ziyaret edilen yerler fotoğraf, video ve drone ile kayıt altına alınmıştır. Rotaların haritalanmasında GPS, coğrafi bilgi sistemleri (Quantum GIS), Google Earth, Relive ve Openstreet Map uygulamaları kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda dini, kültürel ve doğal değerlerin yer aldığı 10 tematik rota oluşturulmuştur. Bu rotaların 7'si yürüyüş rotası, 3'ü ise kültür ve inanç rotası olarak belirlemiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda sürdürülebilir bir turizmin geliştirilmesi için önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
