Yerel Halkın Festivallere Yönelik Algıladıkları Faydaların Festival Gelişimine Destek Olma Niyetleri Üzerindeki Etkileri: Bozcaada Örneği

Abstract

Son yıllarda sürdürülebilir turizmin gerçekleşmesinde festivallerin ve etkinliklerin önemli bir rolü bulunmaktadır. Özellikle destinasyonların tanıtımında ve destinasyonlara gelen turist sayısını artırılmasında festivallerin önemli bir katkısı bulunmaktadır. Gerçekleşen festivaller aynı zamanda yerel halka çeşitli ekonomik ve sosyal faydalar sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Bozcaada'da yapılan festivallere yönelik halkın algıladıkları faydaların halkın yaşam kalitesi ve festival gelişimine destek olma niyetleri üzerindeki etkilerini belirlemektedir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda anket tekniği kullanılarak Bozcaada'da yaşayan 208 kişiden 01.11.2019-20.11.2019 tarihleri arasında veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen verilere doğrulayıcı faktör analizi uygulanmış ve hipotezleri test etmek için yapısal eşitlik modeli kullanılmıştır. Algılanan festival faydaları içerisinde toplum gururunun yaşam kalitesi ve festival gelişim desteği üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi tespit edilememiştir. Algılanan ekonomik ve kişisel faydaların yaşam kalitesi ve festival gelişim desteği üzerinde olumlu bir etkisinin olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Özellikle festivallerden algılanan kişisel faydalarının festival gelişimine destek olma üzerinde güçlü bir etkisinin olduğu bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda turizm paydaşlarına öneriler sunulmuştur.

The Effects Of Residents' Perceived Festival Benefıts On Intentions To Support For Festival Development: The Case Of Bozcaada

Abstract

In recent years, festivals and events have played an important role in the realization of sustainable tourism. The festivals have an important contribution especially in promoting the destinations and increasing the number of tourists visiting the destinations. The organized festivals also offer economic and social benefits to residents of the destinations. The aim of this study is to determine effects of residents' perceived benefits from festivals on residents' quality of life and support for festival development in the destination. For this purpose, research data was collected from 208 residents in Bozcaada between 01.11.2019-20.11.2019 using survey technique. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed on the structures of research and structural equation model was applied to test the hypotheses. Community pride factor of perceived festival benefits, has no significant effect on residents' quality of life and support for festival development. It was revealed that perceived economic and personal benefits have positive effects on residents' quality of life and support for festival development. Especially, it has been found that the perceived personal benefits of the festivals have a strong effect on support for festival development. As a result of the findings, some suggestions has been developed for the tourism stakeholders.
