Abstract

Year 2024, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 67 - 75, 29.02.2024
https://doi.org/10.53353/atrss.1282839

Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the self-efficacy levels of athletes who do climbing sports in terms of gender, injury status, sports history, type of climbing and degree of climbing. 84 male and 49 female athletes who are actively rock climbing in Turkey participated in the research voluntarily. Participants of the study were selected by appropriate sampling method. Demographic information form and Rock Climbing Self-Efficacy Scale were used to collect data. Normality tests were first performed in the analysis of the data. In this direction, skewness and kurtosis values, kolmogorov smirnov values and histograms were examined and it was seen that the data were not normally distributed. In line with this information, it was decided to perform Non-Parametric tests. Descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis analyzes were performed on the data. As a result, there was no significant difference (p>.05) in the self-efficacy levels of climbing athletes in terms of gender, injury status, sports history and climbing type. A significant difference (p<.05) was found in terms of climbing grade.
