Utangaç Olan ve Olmayan Öğrencilerin Algıları

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, utangaç olan ve olmayan öğrencilerin kendileri ile ilgili algılarını belirlemektir. Bu amaçla öğrencilere utangaçlık ölçeği uygulanmış ve ölçekle birlikte verilen bilgi toplama formunda, kendileri ile ilgili algıları sorulmuştur. Araştırma betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırma Ankara Üniversitesinde öğrenimini sürdürmekte olan 255 öğrenci üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin istatistiksel analizi SPSS ortamında Kay-Kare Testi (Chi-Square Tests) ile yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre utangaçlık ölçeği‟nden yüksek puan alan öğrencilerin %36.0‟sı kendilerini utangaç olarak algılamaktadırlar. Bu oran utangaç olmayan öğrencilerde ise %2.0‟tür. Utangaç öğrencilerin %85.7 kişilerarası ilişkilerini geliştirmek amacıyla grup programlarına katılmayı istediklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Buna kaşın utangaçlık puanı yüksek olan katılmayacaklarını alanyazındaki çalışmalar ışığında yorumlanmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur

The Perceptions of Shy and Non-Shy Students

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to describe the perceptions of Shy and Non-Shy Students. Two questionnaire were used. Shyness Scale and an open-ended questionnaire. The shyness scale was given to the students and the second questionnaire was given to subjects to gather their perceptions about themselves. The study is descriptive one. Subject is of 225 university students attending the Faculty of Educational Sciences of Ankara University. SPSS was used for statistical analysis. The results of the analysis of Chi-Square indicated that 36.0 % of the subjects with high scores from the shyness scale, perceive themselves as shy person. On the other hand, 2.0 % of subjects with low scores describes themselves as “shy” in the questionnaire. 85.7 % of subjects with high scores declared they want to join an interpersonal group programs 14.3 % of the students with low scores did not want to join to this kind of group programs. Results were interpreted and discussed according to the relevant studies in the literature and future suggestions were made
