CHOOSING PLANT LOCATION BY FUZZY TOPSIS TECHNIQUE; A CASE STUDY: TANNING INDUSTRY

Abstract

Tanning industry continuous to be one of the basic dynamics of the economy even though it is affected by crises occurs in and out. The reasons for the narrowing in this sector are increasing costs, deterioration of Exchange rates, and lack of infrastructure and technology shortage. The main expansion of this sector is overseas markets. There are very important and strong competitors in this market but the main advantage of this sector is having lower cost than competitors. Mathematical and financial models have been utilized in choosing plant location until today. In this study, Fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) which is one of the multiple criteria decision making techniques will be used. The main objective of this study is to show the success and ease of use of solving this kind of problems and spread the use of it.

KURULUŞ YERİ SEÇİMİNİN FUZZY TOPSIS YÖNTEMİ İLE BELİRLENMESİ: DERİ SEKTÖRÜ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Dericilik sektörü iç ve dış krizlerden etkilense de ekonominin temel dinamiklerinden biri olmaya devam etmektedir. Sektörün içinde bulunduğu tehditler; pazardaki daralma, dövizdeki gerileme, maliyetlerdeki artışlar, teknoloji ve altyapı eksikliklerinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Sektörün temel açılımı dış pazarlardır. Bu alanda başta Çin olmak üzere önemli rakipler bulunmaktadır ve rakiplerine karşı sektörün en önemli avantajlarından biri de maliyetlerin düşüklüğüdür. Kuruluş yeri seçiminde şimdiye kadar matematiksel, finansal ve tecrübeye dayalı yöntemler kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada klasik yöntemlerden farklı olarak çoklu kriterlere dayalı karar verme tekniklerinden “Fuzzy TOPSIS (Tecnique for Order Preference by Smilarity to Ideal Solution)” yöntemi kullanılacaktır. Çalışmada amacımız Fuzzy TOPSIS yönteminin bu tür problemlerde başarısını ve kullanım kolaylığını göstermek, yaygınlaşmasını sağlamaktır..
