EFFECTS OF BUSINESS EDUCATION ON ETHICAL EVALUATIONS

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of business education on ethical evaluation averages and orientations. Ethical orientations were examined on the basis of three most cited approaches of business ethics, namely deontology, justice and utility. Students (1st and 4th grade students) of Dokuz Eylül Business Administration, International Relations and Statistics departments were used as samples for studying assumed education effect. To measure the ethical evaluation averages and orientations 7 separate scenarios were used. Results of the study indicate that, business administration students are more prone to deontological ethical reasoning
