THE ANTECEDENT STRENGTHENING PERSON-ORGANIZATION FIT: WORKPLACE FRIENDSHIP
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to reveal whether workplace friendship has an effect on person-organization fit. The research sample consists of 273 teachers working in various schools. The data obtained from the research sample through survey was applied confirmatory factor, correlation and regression analysis. According to the findings of the research, the variables of the support received, the satisfaction felt and the protection which are the dimensions of the independent variable of workplace friendship have a positive and meaningful effect on the dependent variable of the harmony of the person and organization. However, it is seen that the variable of satisfaction derived from workplace friends has the most powerful effect on the person-organization harmony. Friendly relations with other teachers is a top priority deserving consideration to be able to utilize human sources best
and to enable teachers to adapt to their schools better.
