Sığırlarda Besnoitiosis’in Klinik ve Laboratuvar Yönden Araştırılması

Abstract

Sığır besnoitiosis’i, kist şekillendiren apikompleksan, Besnoitia besnoiti protozoan paraziti tarafından oluşturulan önemli bir deri hastalığıdır. Hastalık özellikle kronik formda, oluşturduğu infertilite, deri kalitesinde bozukluklar ve yüksek yayılma eğilimi nedeniyle ekonomik önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada Besnoitia besnoiti etkenine karşı antikorların varlığının araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, Kırıkkale Yöresindeki yerleşim yerlerinden 360 adet sığır kan örneği toplanarak elde edilen serumlarda, anti-Besnoitia antikorları ticari ELISA test kiti ile araştırılmıştır. Klinik olarak Besnoitiosis’e benzer deri lezyonları görülen dört sığırdan deri biyopsi örnekleri alınarak rutin histopatolojik incelemelerle etkenin kistleri yönünden incelenmiştir. İncelenen 300 yerli sığıra ait serum örneklerinden 80’i (%26.6), 60 ithal sığıra ait serum örneklerinden ise 43’ü (%71,6) B. besnoiti yönünden seropozitif olarak saptanmıştır. Histopatolojik incelemesi yapılan deri biyopsi örneklerinde etkenin kistleri belirlenmemiştir. Çalışma ile Kırıkkale yöresinde yerli ve ithal sığırlarda B. besnoiti’nin varlığı ve özellikle ithal hayvanlarda seroprevalansın yüksek olduğu belirlenmiş olup hastalığın yayılmasında ithal hayvanların risk oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Clinical and Laboratory Investigatons of Besnoitiosis in Cattle

Abstract

Bovine besnoitiosis is an important disease of the integument caused by Besnoitia besnoiti, a cyst-forming apicomplexan protozoan. The disease, especially in the chronic form, causes serious economical loss due to it consequences including infertility, low skin quality and its high spread among cattle farms. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of antibodies against Besnoitia besnoiti. Using a commercial Besnoitia-Antibody Detection ELISA test kit, the sera obtained from the blood samples of 360 cattle located in farms in the province of Kırıkkale. In addition, skin biopsy samples were collected from four cattle with lesions resembling those resulting from Besnoitiosis and were examined histopathologically for presence of cysts induced by Besnoitia besnoiti. According to the results of the present study, 80 (26.6 %), local breed cattle out of 300 examined and 43 (71,6 %) imported cattle out of 60 examined were seropositive for Besnoitia besnoiti.Cysts of the parasite were not determined in the skin biopsy specimens with histopathological examination.In this study, the presence of B. besnoiti in domestic and imported cattle in Kırıkkale region and the seroprevalence of imported animals were found to be high and it was determined that imported animals were at risk in the spread of disease.
