Çekirdeksiz Karpuzlarda Bitki Gelişimi, Verim ve Meyve Özelliklerinde Heterozis

Abstract

Çekirdeksiz karpuz çeşidi geliştirmek, çekirdekli karpuz çeşidi geliştirmeye göre daha uzun süre, daha fazla emek ve para gerektiren ıslah çalışması ile gerçekleştirilmektedir. Çekirdeksiz karpuzlar triploid (3n=3x=33) hibritlerdir. Tetraploid (2n=4x=44) bir hattın, çekirdekli diploid (2n=2x=22) bir hatla tozlanması ile triploid (3n=3x=33) hibrit çeşitler oluşturulur. Sunulan bu çalışmada bir SANTEZ projesi kapsamında geliştirilen beş triploid çekirdeksiz karpuz çeşit adayı ile bunların tetraploid ve diploid ebeveynleri alçak tünel altında tekerrürlü olarak yetiştirilerek; bitki büyümesi, verim ve meyve özellikleri incelenmiştir. Şahit olarak da triploid Style F1 ticari çeşidi denemede yer almıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre; her üç ploidi düzeyine sahip materyal arasında incelenen tüm parametreler açısından önemli farklılıklar tespit edilmiş ve değişik düzeylerde heterozis hesaplanmıştır.

Heterosis on Plant Growth, Yield and Fruit Characteristics in Seedless Watermelon

Abstract

Development of seedless watermelon varieties requires more longer, laborious and expensive breeding studies when compared to developing seeded watermelon varieties. Seedless watermelons are triploid (3n=3x=33) hybrids. Triploid (3n=3x=33) hybrids are generated by pollination of a tetraploid (2n=4x=44) line with a seeded diploid (2n=2x=22) line. In this presented study five triploid seedless watermelon variety candidates and their tetraploid and diploid parents were cultivated with replications under low tunnel in the scope of a Santez project and plant growth, yield and fruit characteristics were investigated. Style F1 commercial hybrid variety was used as triploid control. According to research results; significant variances were determined among all investigated parameters and different level of heterosis was found for material having three ploidy levels.
