EVALUATION OF THE STATUS OF TWENTY-THREE YEARS GROWTH IN THE NATURAL REGENERATION AREAS OF ORIENTAL BEECH (Fagus orientalis Lipsky.) IN BARTIN-ARIT DISTRICT

Abstract

In this study which was investigated into twenty-three results of natural regeneration applications in the oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky.) stands in Bartın-Arıt district was evaluated growth parameters such as mean height, breast height diameter, number of individuals in hectare, volume and annual volume increment. It was determined that mean height of oriental beech individuals, twenthy-three years old, ranged from 11.5 to 12.4 m, mean breast height diameter from 9.9 to 11.4 cm, mean number of individuals from 1125 to 1250 per hectare, mean volume from 117.8 to 128.3 m 3 per hectare and mean annual volume increment from 5.3 to 6.2 m3 /ha per year were determined.

BARTIN-ARIT YÖRESİ DOĞU KAYINI (Fagus orientalis Lipsky.) DOĞAL GENÇLEŞTİRME ALANLARINDA 23 YILLIK BÜYÜME DURUMUNUN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Öz

Bartın-Arıt yöresindeki doğu kayını (Fagus orientalis Lipsky.) meşcerelerinde yapılan doğal gençleştirme uygulamalarının 23 yıllık sonuçlarının incelendiği bu araştırmada; kayın bireylerine ait ortalama boy, göğüs yüksekliği çapı, hektardaki birey sayısı, hacim ve yıllık hacim artımı gibi büyüme parametreleri değerlendirilmiştir. Doğu kayını doğal gençleştirme alanlarında 23. yıl sonunda ortalama boyun 11,5-12,4 m, ortalama göğüs yüksekliği çapının 9,9-11,4 cm, hektardaki ortalama birey sayısının 1125-1250 adet/ha, ortalama hacmin 117,8-128,3 m3 /ha ve ortalama yıllık hacim artımın 5,3-6,2 m3 /ha/yıl arasında değiştiği belirlenmiştir
