İnşaat sektöründe kazı işleri sebepli iş kazaları

Year 2018, Volume: 20 Issue: 1, 265 - 277, 25.02.2018

Abstract

Occupational accidents occured in excavation works in construction industry

Year 2018, Volume: 20 Issue: 1, 265 - 277, 25.02.2018

Abstract

Construction industry is a branch in which occupational accidents frequently occured. In this study reports of 92 accidents which occured during excavation works are investigated in detail. The information is gathered from OSHA in the 1986-2014 time frame by appliying descriptive key words. Major relationships between how and why the accidents occured are revealed by performing univariate analysis. Majority of the accidents ended up with fatality with a percentage of 60,9%. Absence of safety equipment was found to be the most observed unsafe act. The results of the study would enlighten to figure out some effective strategies and their application of accidents that may occur in Turkey.
