DIGITAL GAMES IN EARLY MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

Year 2024, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 32 - 47, 31.07.2024

Abstract

This review addresses the use of digital games in the context of early childhood mathematics education. It examines various aspects of digital games in developing early mathematical skills, increasing problem solving capacity and making the educational process more engaging. The integration process of games in learning and applying mathematical concepts, how they affect children's mathematical thinking, and the importance of strategic use of technology in early childhood education are emphasized. The contributions of digital games to children's cognitive, emotional and social development are evaluated, and how basic mathematical skills are developed is expressed. This study reveals how the inclusion of digital games in learning processes can enrich children's mathematical skills and understanding. As a result, early childhood mathematics education stands out as an effective tool for developing children's early mathematics skills through the strategic use of digital games under the guidance of teachers and in collaboration with parents. It is recommended that educators and parents should be sensitive to children's individual needs and interests in the selection and implementation of digital games, integrate them into the curriculum, and guide them in a way that develops children's numeracy skills.

ERKEN MATEMATİK EĞİTİMİNDE DİJİTAL OYUNLAR

Year 2024, Volume: 2 Issue: 1, 32 - 47, 31.07.2024
