Employees Perception and Behaviors About an Organization Environmental Awareness policy

Abstract

The study's goal was to determine the impact of an organization's environmental awareness policies on employee behavior, the relationship between environmental awareness and employee behavior, identify participant demographics, and employees' perceptions of environmental awareness. The study was a descriptive cross-sectional design; data was generated from a questionnaire via a mobile phone application from different organizations in Iraq/Erbil from 1 February 2021 to 12 October 2021. The researchers distributed 450 questionnaires via an online application format; 400 questionnaires were received and properly completed, and 50 questionnaires were missing, resulting in a sample size of 400 participants for the study. The study's limitation is the COVID-19 pandemic; the authors could not make field visits to organizations to gather information and directly interview participants. The study revealed a strong relationship between environmental awareness policies and employees' behavior, which indicates that depending on the organization's environmental awareness policies can lead to improving employees' behavior. However, there is a positive influence of environmental awareness policies on employees' behavior.
