The effect of different sowing densities on yield and yield components of Coriander Coriandrum sativum cultivars under Ankara/Turkey ecological conditions

Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the effect of different sowing densities on yield and yield components under Ankara ecological conditions. The treatments consist of four sowing densities D1: 20 plant m-2, D2: 30 plant m-2, D3: 40 plant m-2, D4: 50 plant m-2 . Means data for plant height cm , number of main branches per plant, number of umbrella per plant, 1000 fruit weight g , fruit yield kg da-1 and essential oil content were 51,13 cm, 5,02 number, 10,04 number, 11,15 g, 90,68 kg da-1 and 0,290 %, respectively. The results of the study indicated that different sowing densities had an important effect on fruit yield kg da-1 in coriander. Thus, sowing density of 40 plant m-2 for Gürbüz cv and sowing density of 30 plant m-2 for Arslan cv under Ankara conditions may be recommended
