Investigation of pollen features and chromosome numbers of Erodium somanum

Abstract

Pollen features and chromosome numbers of Erodium somanum H.Peşmen known as local endemic species were investigated. Light and scanning electron microscope were used for palinological measurements. Pollen shape of investigated taxon was spheroid, mean polar diameter and equatorial diameters were 66.03 and 62.94 µm, respectively. Exine surface ornementation of pollen was determined as striato-reticulate and pollen type was majority triporate, rare tetraporate. On the other hand, as a result of cytological studies, chromosome number of this species was found as 2n=18 for the first time

Erodium somanum’ un palinolojik ve sitolojik yönden incelenmesi

Abstract

Lokal endemik bir tür olarak bilinen Erodium somanum H. Peşmen ’un polen özellikleri ve kromozom sayısı belirlenmiştir. Palinolojik ölçümler için ışık ve taramalı elektron mikroskobu kullanılmıştır. Polen şekli sferoidal olup ortalama polar çap 66.03 μm ve ekvatoriyal çap ise 62.94 μm’ dir. Polen tipi çoğunlukla triporat çok nadir tetraporat, polenlerin ekzin yüzey ornamentasyonu striat-retikulat olarak belirlenmiştir. Sitolojik çalışmalar ile türe ait kromozom sayısı ilk kez bu çalışma ile belirlenmiş ve 2n=18 bulunmuştur
