Soil algae of the Körfez Region Kocaeli/Türkiye

Abstract

Microalgae, both in aquatic systems has very great importance in terrestrial ecosystems. In this study carried out in Kocaeli Province, terrestrial epipelic algae species were determined. The survey was conducted in 5 stations selected from January 2016 to December 2016. In the study, 20 taxa belonging to Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Charophyta and Cyanobacteria divisions were detected. The 8 belong of Bacillariophyta, 2 belong of Chlorophyta, 1 belong of Charophyta and 9 belong of them Cyanobacteria. Chroococcus cohaerens Bréb. Nägeli, Limnococcus limneticus Lemmerm. Komárek et al., Chroococcus sp., Phormidium nigroviride Thwaites ex Gomont Anagn. & Komárek, Nitzschia parvula Lewis ex Grunow in Van Heurck taxa are very abundant, especially in the Dilovasi station, where industrial activities are workload. Chroococcus cohaerens and Tatrensinia sp. taxa, our country has been identified as a new record for the soil algae. In the study, significant differences were determined between the stations. Bacillariophyta taxa were found in all seasons due to their ecological tolerance, while other species belong to spring and summer seasons

Körfez Bölgesi’nin toprak algleri Kocaeli/Türkiye

Abstract

Mikro algler, hem sucul sistemlerde hem de karasal ekosistemde oldukça büyük öneme sahiptir. Kocaeli İlinde gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada, karasal epipelik alg türleri belirlenmiştir. Araştırma, Ocak 2016 – Aralık 2016 tarihlerinde seçilen 5 istasyonda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada, Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Charophyta ve Cyanobacteria divizyolarına ait toplam 20 takson tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan 8’i Bacillariophyta, 2’si Chlorophyta, 1’i Charophyta ve 9’u Cyanobacteria’ya aittir. Chroococcus cohaerens Bréb. Nägeli, Limnococcus limneticus Lemmerm. Komárk. et al., Chroococcus sp., Phormidium nigroviride Thwaites ex Gomont Anagn. & Komárek, Nitzschia parvula Lewis ex Grunov in Van Heurck taksonları özellikle, sanayi faaliyetlerinin yoğun olduğu Dilovası istasyonun da çok bol olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada, istasyonlar arasında önemli farklılıklar belirlenmiştir. Bacillariophyta üyelerine, ekolojik toleranslarından dolayı, her mevsimde rastlanırken, diğer gruplara ait türler ise bahar ve yaz dönemlerinde tespit edilmiştir
