Determination of the insecticide resistance mechanisms by biochemical assays in Myzus persicae (Sulz.) (Hemiptera:Aphididae) populations collected from Icel-Turkey
Abstract
The carboxylesterase correlated with insecticide resistance in different Myzus persicae populations collected from Icel were analysed by using microplate reader and electrophoresis. Total carboxylesterase activities and carboxylesterase E4 band patterns of the populations were determined and the values were found as extremely high levels at all of Icel populations. Results of the detailed analyses from microplate assay, immunoassay and electrophoresis showed that Icel populations have very high levels and FE4 type of carboxylesterase.
Icel populations were also examined the case of insecticide resistance resulted from insensitivity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE). It was found that three Icel populations have insensitive AChE to pirimicarb. Icel populations showed “multiple resistance mechanismâ€?, because of high carboxylesterase activities and also insensitive AChE.
