Dr. Mehmet Ali Gündoğdu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture at the Faculty of Agriculture, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Türkiye. He completed his undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in Horticulture. His academic research mainly focuses on fruit growing, olive cultivation, and olive oil quality, with particular emphasis on biochemical composition and volatile aroma compounds in plant products.
His research interests include the physicochemical and sensory quality characteristics of olive (Olea europaea L.) cultivars, volatile aroma compounds, phenolic compounds, and factors affecting olive oil quality. He also conducts studies on physiological and biochemical processes affecting quality in different fruit species and cultivars.
Dr. Gündoğdu has authored more than 100 scientific articles, as well as numerous national and international conference papers, book chapters, and research projects throughout his academic career. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and supervises postgraduate research in horticultural sciences. In addition, he actively contributes to analytical and quality evaluation studies related to olives and olive oil.
