zeylerini belirlemektir.
Materyal Metod: Bu çalışmaya Nisan 2012 – Mayıs 2013 tarihleri arasında Ankara Numune Eğitim ve Araş-
tırma Hastanesi ve Sağlık Bakanlığı Bayrampaşa Devlet Hastanesi Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum polikliniğinde
postmenopozal kanama nedeni ile lokal anestezi altında endometrial biyopsi yapılması planlanan 213 hasta dahil edilmiştir. Veriler, işlem öncesinde hastalardan, sosyodemografik soru formu ve Hastane Anksiyete Dep- resyon Ölçeği (HAD) kullanılmıştır.
Sonuçlar: Endometrial biyopsi öncesi postmenopozal kanaması olan hastaların anksiyete ölçeği (HAD-A) or-
talaması 10.41 ± 2.70 (min=0, max=17) olarak bulunmuştur. Kesme noktası 10 olarak alındığında hastaların
%74.7’i anksiyete yönünden risk altında oldukları saptanmıştır.

ABSTRACT
Introduction: To determine the anxiety and depression risk levels of women with postmenopausal bleeding
before the endometrial biopsy.
Material and Methods: This is a descriptive study and it was applied to 213 women with postmenopausal
bleeding before endometrial biopsy between April 2012 – May 2013 in the Ankara Numune Education and
Research Hospital and Bayrampasa State Hospital Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Individual Identification Form and The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD) were used in data collection. Results: The mean score of HAD-A was found 10.41 ± 2.70 (min=0, max=17) before the before the endometrial biopsy in women with postmenopausal bleeding. Taking 10 as cutting point, 74.7% of them were found to be at risk in terms of anxiety. The HAD-D mean score was found .10 ± 2.85 (min=0, max=16). Taking 7 as cutting point, 71.3% of women with postmenopausal bleeding were found to be at risk in terms of depression. Conclusion: Although endometrial biopsy is a common gynecological procedure, psychological effects of it have been considered very few and ignored. In our study, anxiety was determinated in the majority of women with postmenopausal bleeding before endometrial biopsy. The lack of information postmenopausal women should be identified to decrease their anxiety level which was seen before endometrial biopsy. Also their anxiety level should be reduced by using appropriate communication techniques during the biopsy.
